MG's Special Scent for the "Yanık Yurt" Exhibition

The "Burned Homeland" exhibition, opened at the Ahmet Piriştina City Archive and Museum in Izmir, focuses on the tragic fires that occurred in Western Anatolia during the final days of the War of Independence.

The exhibition presents the tragedy of the period through photographs, documents, films and objects brought to light for the first time. MG International Fragrance Company offers visitors an extraordinary experience with a burnt scent specially created for this exhibition. Designed by perfumer Koray Sevinç, this fragrance allows visitors to experience the sensation of walking through a city devastated by fire.

At the exhibition opening, Corporate Communications Manager Duygu Beşbıçak, representing MG International Fragrance Company and attending with perfumer Koray Sevinç, shared the following remarks about the project's contributions: "As MG International, we are proud to participate in this project with our burnt scent installation; through this work, we aimed to convey historical events to visitors through both a visual and sensory experience. We invite you to visit the Burned Homeland exhibition, which will remain open for eight months, to closely follow our Republic's deep-rooted past and its journey filled with challenges."

The exhibition is curated by Aybala Yentürk and Nejat Yentürk, with photographs compiled from the Nejat Yentürk collection and the Albert Kahn Archive. Historical firefighting equipment brought from the Izmir Fire Department is also on display at the exhibition. Films from the Albert Kahn and International Red Crescent Archives document the condition of Western Anatolia following the fires.

The "Burned Homeland" exhibition can be visited free of charge until 20 June 2025 and offers Izmir residents a unique perspective on one of the most difficult periods in the history of the Republic.
