Aksa Akrilik Takes the Journey of Fiber to a Virtual Tour
Aksa Akrilik has opened the Aksa Experience Area (ADA), located at its production facilities in Yalova, to a virtual tour. Consisting of 22 different stations, ADA brings the journey of acrylic fiber from production to the final product to visitors in a digital environment.

Aksa Akrilik has moved the Aksa Experience Area, where it explains the production process and different areas of use of acrylic fiber—used in many products in daily life from sweaters to blankets, carpets to upholstery—into the digital environment.

Located on an area of approximately 570 square meters at the production facilities in Yalova, ADA was designed as an interactive experience area in order to make acrylic fiber's place within technical and industrial terminology more understandable.

The journey of acrylic fiber across 22 stations

At the 22 different stations in ADA, the process ranging from the production stages of acrylic fiber to different production techniques and areas of use is addressed. The fiber's areas of use in daily life are shown through products such as carpets, upholstery, sweaters, socks, yarn, hand-knitting and blankets.

Fashion, automotive, home and sports textiles, technical textiles and advanced materials are also among the prominent application areas in the experience area. Thanks to the virtual tour, visitors can tour the different sections of ADA online and examine the content from wherever they are.

"We are extending access to a wider audience"

Aksa Akrilik General Manager and Board Member Didem Tunçbilek stated that ADA was brought to life in order to make visible the value chain of acrylic fiber extending from production to different sectors and to products used in daily life.

Tunçbilek said, "We do not view acrylic fiber merely as a material we produce. There is a broad value chain of the fiber extending from production to different sectors and to products within daily life. We brought ADA to life in order to make this integrity visible; to be able to convey our production knowledge and the different areas of use of the product together."

Stating that they have expanded the access of the experience area in Yalova with the virtual tour, Tunçbilek said that they are bringing the production and technology know-how behind acrylic fiber together with a wider audience.

Aksa Akrilik's production, which started in Yalova in 1971 with an annual capacity of 5 thousand tons, has today reached 355 thousand tons annually. The company serves approximately 400 customers in more than 50 countries across 5 continents with over 1,400 employees.

The virtual tour of the Aksa Experience Area can be accessed through Aksa Akrilik's website.
