Schneider Electric Contributes to New Era in Industrial Transformation in Collaboration with WEF

Schneider Electric has joined the Advisory Board of the World Economic Forum's Lighthouse Operating System (Lighthouse OS), which aims to accelerate industrial digital transformation on a global scale. With this step, the company aims to strengthen global collaborations to make digitalization in the manufacturing sector scalable.

Schneider Electric joined the Lighthouse Operating System (Lighthouse OS) Advisory Board of the World Economic Forum, which aims to accelerate industrial digital transformation on a global scale. With this step, the company aims to strengthen global collaborations toward making digitalization scalable in the manufacturing sector.

Developed in collaboration with the World Economic Forum, Lighthouse OS provides an open-source framework designed to enable manufacturers to implement modernization processes more rapidly, systematically and sustainably. The system is based on insights gained from the World Economic Forum's eight years of experience with the Global Lighthouse Network.

Addressing scalability challenges in digital transformation
Although many manufacturers globally invest in digital transformation, a significant portion of these investments remain in the pilot phase and cannot be scaled. Lighthouse OS, by standardizing methods successfully applied in the world's most advanced manufacturing facilities, enables companies to scale operational transformation more easily.

Built on six core operational principles, the system covers resilient processes, connected production flows, end-to-end synchronization, sustainability, learning organization structure and data-driven digital capability areas. Companies can analyze their current maturity levels and develop transformation roadmaps in phases.

"Experience was built directly into the system"
Schneider Electric is transferring its digital manufacturing and automation experience, developed over more than twenty years, to the Lighthouse OS framework. The company's more than 120 smart factories and distribution centers operating worldwide are among the key implementation areas for this transformation model.

Cecile Vercellino, Senior Vice President of Schneider Electric Industrial Automation Services, stated that the company's field experience is directly integrated into the Lighthouse OS system, and that they aim to contribute to manufacturers' transition from isolated pilot projects to holistic transformation.

Federico Torti, Head of Technology and Innovation at the World Economic Forum, said that Lighthouse OS transforms field experience gained in the world's most successful factories into a practical model that all manufacturers can implement.

An open and evolving model
Lighthouse OS is designed as a structure open to evolution in line with global pilot projects and sector feedback, while manufacturers, technology providers and public institutions are invited to contribute to the system.

With this collaboration, Schneider Electric aims to contribute to the transformation of the global manufacturing ecosystem in the areas of digitalization, sustainability, artificial intelligence-enabled automation and operational efficiency.
