Siemens Strengthens Fire Safety and Sustainability Portfolio with Danfoss

Siemens will expand its fire suppression portfolio with high-pressure water mist technology through an acquisition. The acquisition will support Siemens' growth in key industries while accelerating the transition to sustainable fire suppression solutions.

Siemens Smart Infrastructure has agreed to acquire Danfoss Fire Safety, a subsidiary of Denmark-based Danfoss Group specializing in fire suppression technology. The acquisition is expected to drive growth and accelerate the transition to offering a sustainable fire safety portfolio.

Danfoss Fire Safety, operating under the Buildings business unit within the Siemens Smart Infrastructure Division, will expand this portfolio to deliver sustainable solutions particularly for fast-growing sectors such as data centres, industrial processes, and tunnels. The new technology will ensure that fire suppression systems do not harm the environment while effectively extinguishing fires. In this way, Siemens will be able to offer its customers greener and safer options.

"A strong step towards sustainability"
Susanne Seitz, Chief Executive Officer of the Buildings business unit at Siemens Smart Infrastructure Division, said the acquisition would further strengthen Siemens' position on the global platform in the fire safety sector: "Integrating Danfoss Fire Safety into our organization will enable us to respond more quickly and effectively to our customers' needs, particularly in sectors with high growth potential. This strategic move is an important step in accelerating the transformation towards sustainability in the fire suppression market".

"We will ensure a seamless transition"
Troels H. Petersen, Senior Vice President of Corporate M&A at Danfoss, emphasized that they are confident this business unit will grow within Siemens, stating: "As Danfoss, our priority is to provide a seamless transition for our employees, customers, and suppliers".

Operating within the Danfoss Group since 2019, Danfoss Fire Safety, with 125 employees, will continue operations under the name "A Siemens Business". The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of the 2024 calendar year following approvals.
