Reaksiyon Kimya Makes Power Move in Africa

Reaksiyon Kimya continues its success in European and Middle Eastern markets while taking a significant step into Africa through a new factory investment in Algeria. The company aims to grow with next-generation environmentally friendly products, while planning to expand its global presence by entering American and Asian markets. As Turkey's sole domestic polycarboxylate producer, Reaksiyon Kimya seeks to strengthen its position in the sector through both domestic and international sales.
Reaksiyon Kimya, which brought a new factory in Kocaeli Dilovası into operation last year to meet demand from European and Middle Eastern markets, has also implemented a significant investment abroad. Gökhan Ceyhan, Deputy General Manager of Reaksiyon Kimya, stated that with the commencement of operations of this factory under construction in Algeria, they will achieve a strong position in the African market.
Deputy General Manager Gökhan Ceyhan, noting that they started the year on a positive note, said: "In the first half we increased our production capacity. Particularly with the epoxy resins of Kumho, which we distribute, and the cellulose ether product lines of Mizuda, we brought our market position to a more effective point. With the momentum we gained in European and Middle Eastern markets, we achieved 10% growth in exports. Thanks to our new factory coming on stream, we optimized our production processes and reduced costs, thereby increasing our competitive strength."
Reaksiyon Kimya, with production facilities of approximately 10,000 square meters in Istanbul, exports its products to more than 15 countries. Gökhan Ceyhan, noting that in addition to new investments in Turkey they have also started factory investments in Algeria, stated: "With our Algeria factory investments, we aim to further increase our production capacity and strengthen our presence in international markets. Within 3 years, we plan to increase the share of export revenues in our total sales to 45 percent. To this end, we aim to expand our market share in Africa by ensuring that our new factory in Algeria operates at full capacity."
"We will increase production by 20 percent"
Ceyhan, noting that they have set their 2025 targets, said: "We plan to increase our production by 20 percent. With this increase we will meet demand from Europe and Africa. We aim to grow with next-generation, environmentally friendly and value-added products. In 2025 we plan to expand our exports on a global scale by entering American and Asian markets." He also spoke on challenges: "One of the most important problems encountered in the chemical sector is global risks in raw material supply, and the second is the sector's dependence on imports. Another issue is the cost of regulatory compliance. The chemical sector is subject to quite strict regulations in environmental and health terms. Complying with these regulations creates a heavy burden on companies both in terms of time and cost."
We are Turkey's sole domestic polycarboxylate producer
Reaksiyon Kimya, which supplies raw materials to the paints, inks and construction chemicals sector, increased its liquid polycarboxylate product capacity to 20,000 tons annually with the new factory it brought into operation in Dilovası OSB last year. Gökhan Ceyhan, emphasizing that they are Turkey's sole domestic powder polycarboxylate producer, said: "We continue our sales both domestically and internationally. With this special product we produce, we contribute to import substitution and provide added value to our country."
