Merck Provides Support to Employees and Community

Merck, one of the world's most established pharmaceutical and chemical companies, continues its employee development initiatives through the 'Global Development Week' it organizes annually. During this special week held in November this year, various training sessions, meetings and events were organized for both Merck Turkey and global Merck employees aimed at bringing their competencies, knowledge and wellbeing to the highest level.
With the motto "Every employee is a potential," Merck carries out in-house events to unlock this potential to the highest level and develop employee competencies. In line with this employee-focused approach, the company has organized 'Merck Global Development Week' every year since 2019.
Within the scope of Merck Global Development Week, diverse training sessions supporting employee development are organized at both local and global levels. These sessions aim to impart knowledge and skills spanning from open communication to leadership competencies, from artificial intelligence applications to wellbeing. Merck brings together in-house expert trainers and leading professionals from the sector to maintain employee competencies at the highest level.
Various events from Merck Turkey during the week
In the Turkey phase of this special week, the event started with opening remarks from Merck Turkey General Manager Şehram Zayer and Human Resources Director Gaye Mescioğlu, the "Future Merck'e" project was introduced and the local launch of the new global platform that will guide company employees on their development journey took place. Throughout the week, conversations with leaders, training sessions and wellbeing events were implemented.

On the wellbeing day, a webinar titled "Finding Balance in Daily Life" was held, followed by an aromatherapy workshop where employees experienced an enjoyable and relaxing experience.
Sessions on "Development Plan Preparation Training," "Advanced Notification Training" and "Emotional Intelligence Training" contributed to employees' professional development.
This year's Development Week made a difference through a donation campaign
This year's Development Week was also marked by a meaningful corporate social responsibility initiative focused on community benefit. In this initiative where employee development met community benefit, EUR 1 per employee participating in the sessions was donated to the "Visions for Children" non-governmental organization to support the education of children in conflict and war zones. Through this donation campaign implemented at the global level, Merck aims to contribute to children reaching a better future through education.
