Ultra Lite 2009 for Epoxy Topcoats

  Cardolite UL 2009 is a light-colored, low-viscosity phenalkamine hardener very well suited for protective epoxy coatings for metal and concrete surfaces. UL 2009 exhibits excellent cure and significantly better film properties compared to standard cycloaliphatic amine hardeners, even at very low temperatures and in highly humid environments. It demonstrates excellent adhesion to concrete, primers and intermediate coats. This material is primarily designed for floor topcoats and self-leveling applications due to its mechanical strength, excellent hardness level, gloss and color stability properties.

ULTRA LITE 2020

Cardolite UL 2020 is a low-viscosity, solvent-free, multipurpose resin modifying agent designed for use in adhesives, coatings and various applications. The hydrophobic, long aliphatic chain in the "Cardanol" molecular structure ensures the material maintains low viscosity, early water resistance and corrosion resistance. When used as an epoxy diluent, it supports successful performance of high-viscosity solvent-based or solvent-free formulations without compromising many of their properties. This material also reacts with alkyds, urethanes and acrylics.  

Applications

UL 2020 was developed to reduce the viscosity and VOC levels of marine, protective, industrial and floor coatings. Although the material's own viscosity is somewhat higher than similar products, its material structure enables rapid viscosity reduction through excellent thinning efficiency, while providing improved pigment wetting and flexibility. Today, with restrictions and bans on consumption and use in many countries, particularly in the European Union, and occasional supply difficulties, it is an excellent alternative to benzyl alcohol that is both economical and environmentally friendly. With UL 2020 use, the physical properties of the coating—water resistance, corrosion resistance, color stability, chemical resistance and gloss—are not compromised.
