Migros Commissions New Solar Power Plant in Kırşehir

Migros commissioned its first ground-mounted solar power plant in Kırşehir. The facility, built on 321 hectares of land, uses approximately 63,000 specially manufactured dual-sided domestically produced solar panels. These dual-sided panels enable maximum efficiency from both direct sunlight and energy reflected from the ground.
Built using the latest technology components, the facility will generate 56,280 MWh of energy annually on its own. Following the four rooftop solar projects with 11,000 MWh capacity commissioned earlier, with this investment, the total energy generated from Migros' solar projects has reached a capacity that will meet 10% of annual energy needs. Migros made a TRY 9.9 billion investment in all solar projects in 2024.

Migen Enerji A.Ş., a 100% subsidiary of Migros, provides end-to-end energy management services in the areas of energy supply, energy efficiency solutions and renewable energy investments. Şevki Tuncer, General Manager of Migen Enerji and Electric Vehicle Charging Services A.Ş, noting that with the "Electricity Supply License" they received from EPDK at the end of 2024, they are an expert brand in multi-point consumption tracking, efficiency solutions and clean energy access, including energy supply, stated: "With our first ground-mounted solar energy system commissioned in Kırşehir, we meet the energy needs of more than 600 Migros stores with clean energy sources. In 2025, we have started work on new plants that will generate a total of 97,000 MWh of energy in four more provinces. We are moving forward with determined steps in line with our target of reducing carbon emissions by 42% by 2030 and reaching net zero emissions in 2050. Thanks to this facility, we will prevent 35,000 tons of carbon emissions annually."
"We aim to expand Miggo charging stations to 150 stores"
Tuncer, stating that they are building an environmentally friendly ecosystem by investing in sustainable transportation solutions such as electric vehicle charging stations with Migen, continued: "To meet the growing demand with the proliferation of electric vehicles, with our Miggo Charge application, we are installing charging stations in the parking lots of our stores. This way, our customers can charge their vehicles while shopping at Migros stores. We aim to increase the number of electric vehicle charging stations from 67 at the end of 2024 to 150 in 2025. To leave a cleaner world for the future, we will continue to expand our environmentally conscious energy projects."
