Tank Containers in Liquid Transport

With rising global trade, tank containers are the transport units used for the carriage of liquid bulk products. In Turkey, the terminology isotank is also used. ISO is actually an international standard norm, and the outer frames of all tank containers are manufactured according to this standard. Each of these pieces of equipment is suitable for shipment in sea, rail and road transport modes. This standard enables all liquid products to be easily transported in all modes with tank containers. Tank container diversity based on the product to be transported has an unlimited range. While fundamentally divided into chemicals, food and liquefied gas, tank containers with different characteristics are also available to meet the requirements of the products to be transported. The correct tank container selection is made according to the characteristics of each product to be transported. The specific gravity of the product is at the forefront of these criteria. With tank containers varying in volume from 17m³ to 36m³, maximizing product shipment in a single operation and minimizing customers' logistics costs is always the primary objective. On the other hand, characteristics of the product such as abrasiveness, flash point and vapour pressure are calculated before filling and shipment, and the correct tank container selection is made for the product to be transported. Here the aim is to ensure human and environmental safety to the maximum level during transport within the framework of ADR regulations.

The fluidity of products to be transported in liquid form can decrease according to ambient temperature, and therefore products may need to be subjected to heating operations in accordance with their own characteristics before delivery. Planning this with remote monitoring equipment becomes much easier. In our company, specially designed equipment under the name "Smart Logistics" is used to closely monitor the entire shipment process and provide instant notifications. Of course, these equipment are not limited to just GPS and smart thermometers. Upon request, they can also provide monitoring of criteria such as remote pressure and filling level.

Thanks to the developed interface, automatic notifications can also be made for tank positions or all other requested information in line with their determined lower and upper criteria.
