What Is Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD)?
Chemical oxygen demand (COD) is the amount of oxygen required for the chemical oxidation of oxidizable substances in water.
Chemical oxygen demand is one of the most important parameters used in determining the pollution level of domestic and industrial wastewater (particularly wastewater from textile, food, chemical and similar industries).
Chemical oxygen demand is a simple analysis that can provide results in two and a half hours. You can perform this analysis economically and accurately using the COD analysis kit, COD photometer and Heat UP heating block in our product portfolio.
HEAT UP Heating Block
The Heat UP heating block is a fully domestic laboratory product that provides precise temperature control for reproducible results. Efficient heating with maximum heat retention is achieved through contact between the closed tube and the block. For analyses such as COD, total nitrogen and total phosphorus to proceed, heating must be performed at specific temperatures and durations. For this reason, it is an ideal product for analyses requiring temperature stability. With the Heat UP heating block featuring a digital display, you can prepare up to 12 samples, and easily program six different temperatures (70°C, 100°C, 120°C, 148°C, 150°C, 160°C) and various durations (30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes and 120 minutes) in different combinations via the digital display.
