TURKCHEM
Kaneka Belgium NV is a subsidiary of Kaneka Corporation, a technology-focused chemical company with headquarters in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan. Offering a broad product range, Kaneka maintains its own production and marketing organization worldwide. It conducts commercial activities across numerous sectors spanning chemicals to functional plastics, food products to life sciences, synthetic fibers to electrical and electronic materials.

Three production units

Established in 1970, Kaneka Belgium NV is Kaneka Corporation's first overseas subsidiary. Our headquarters and production facilities in Westerlo, Belgium encompass three production units: •Impact modifiers: Additives that enhance the impact resistance, climate durability and gloss of plastic products. •Epuran: Expanded polypropylene and polyethylene foam particles used as lightweight, environmentally friendly and recyclable foam, shock-absorbing packaging material and as the base material for automotive parts. •Liquid polymers: Modified Silicone Polymers (MS PolymerTM) used as base resin in adhesives, sealants and coating materials with applications across various sectors.

Kaneka MS PolymerTM

Kaneka introduced silan-terminated polyethers (STPE) to the Japanese construction sector approximately 40 years ago. It provided high elasticity and unique properties required for low-modulus construction sealants in earthquake zones. Kaneka developed a new polymer combining the beneficial properties of silicones and polyurethanes and named it Modified Silicone Polymer, or MS PolymerTM for short. Currently, numerous different grades are offered in varying viscosity ranges, differentiated by functionality and basic structure. To meet various needs in different applications, formulators are provided with numerous different polymers for the development of products suitable for moisture-cure systems. The name "MS PolymerTM" or "MS" has gained considerable recognition and has become pioneering technology in the sealant and adhesive sector. While MS is Kaneka's core technology, we continue developing new polymer structures to expand existing application fields and introduce MS PolymerTM to new application sectors. Kaneka is in a unique position with the capability to supply from four separate global production units (Japan, Belgium, USA and Malaysia) for core product grades, thus providing resources it and its customers can draw upon in emergencies. Our strong R&D, technical service and marketing teams build long-term relationships with customers from around the world. As a science company, our commitment is to make your dreams possible through science. Jo Indesteege Director - MS Polymer Division Kaneka Belgium NV
