Our Current Issue: Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin is a condition characterized by overreaction to common factors such as pollution, UV rays, weather conditions and particularly cosmetic products like soaps and disinfectants; it manifests as itching, stinging sensation and redness and rashes on the face, scalp and hand surfaces.
Sensitive skin develops in an environment where the skin is not adequately protected from external factors. The integrity of the skin barrier (Stratum Corneum and intercellular matrix structure) can be compromised by increased use of disinfectants containing ethanol and surfactants.
A weakened skin barrier increases the penetration of external agents that trigger skin reactions such as itching and irritation, which cause further damage to the skin barrier, and the absorption of chemicals is further increased by the release of inflammatory signals. This condition worsens itching, redness and irritation.
Naturalis Presents NIO-SENSYL, an Active Complex to Soothe Sensitive Skin
Natural Solution to Strengthen the Skin Barrier and Reduce Skin Hyper-Reactivity to External Irritants. NIO-SENSYL is a powerful active ingredient composed of a synergistic active complex encapsulated within niosome vesicles for exceptional skin penetration and cosmetic efficacy. The synergy of active components in NIO-SENSYL works to improve the function of the skin barrier and reduce skin inflammation.

*Erythema Index measurement on skin treated with 0.5% SLS for 24 hours using SkinLab Combo equipped with a colorimetric test strip, on 20 volunteers receiving Negative Control (Distilled Water), Placebo (Cream without active ingredients), NIO-SENSYL or Hydrocortisone 17-butyrate. Results are measured at baseline and at 0 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 120 minutes.
α-Mangostin
Derived from Garcinia Mangostana and widely used as an anti-inflammatory agent in Southeast Asia. Several studies have shown that mangostin is not only a potent inhibitor of the release of an inflammatory chemical mediator such as PGE2, but also a new inhibitor of COX2 gene activation.Magnolol/Honokiol
Derived from magnolia bark, it has potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, inhibiting the NF-kB factor while also reducing the production of important inflammatory mediators. *TEWL measurement on normal skin and skin treated with 0.5% SLS for 24 hours, on 20 volunteers receiving placebo, 1% and 3% NIO-SENSYL twice daily for 4 days, using DermaLab Combo technique.Zinc-Enriched Yeast Extract
Zinc is a trace element required for cell growth, development, differentiation and the function of more than 300 different enzymes. Zinc deficiency causes skin dryness, acne and skin cracks. To obtain bioavailability in a more organic form, it is added to the fermentation process of a special yeast strain.
