Operating Principle

Since the air inside the cabinet passes through a waste HEPA filter and is free from contamination, environmental protection is also provided. In Type A systems, air inside the cabinet typically recirculates into the room. Consequently, if a ductwork channel is not installed to prevent mixing with the room air, Type A systems are not fully safe for working with toxic chemicals. If experiments with toxic chemicals are to be conducted, Type B (with ductwork outlet) from Nükleon Biosafety Cabinets should be specified.
