Sónar İstanbul

The eagerly awaited programme for Sónar İstanbul has so far announced names including Ben Frost – Widening Gyre (360° Live), Bicep (DJ Set), Deena Abdelwahed- Khonnar (Live), DJ Lag, DJ Seinfeld, DJ Stingray, Fjaak (Live), Gazelle Twin, George Fitzgerald (Live), HAAi, Henrik Schwarz (Live), Kobosil, Laurent Garnier, Matador (Live), Modeselektor (Live), Octo Octa, The Field, Tijana T and Volvox. For the second consecutive year, Sónar İstanbul will transform Zorlu PSM into a centre of music, creativity and technology, hosting invaluable DJs and producers from the electronic music world on 8-9 March 2019. Modeselektor, one half of Moderat, who were among the guest of honour at the first Sónar İstanbul, is setting its course back to Istanbul. The duo of Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, performing this year at Sónar Barcelona's 25th anniversary edition, will take the stage with dance-focused live performances that push the boundaries of imagination. Last June, they released the fourth edition of their self-titled compilation album, which has become a tradition.

Real Muscle: Bicep

Bicep's music comprises high doses of house and techno in both classical and contemporary styles, alongside electro, italodisco, garage, experimental and psychedelic elements. Bicep's debut album under their own name, released last year on the Ninja Tune label, can be heard in every format and every setting. On a laptop, with headphones or in a nightclub. This album, which manages to make an impact in every circumstance, is now part of what you can listen to at Sónar İstanbul. Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson form one of the strongest and most respected partnerships on the international electronic music scene. Since 2010, with their EPs, singles and remixes, Bicep has proven their production range, which traverses different genres, and their distinctive music to the world.
