Kalekim, a leading brand in the building chemicals sector, has completed its investment of approximately USD 10 million and commissioned its new factory in Duhok, Iraq.
Kalekim, a pioneering company in Turkey's building chemicals sector, has taken an important step in line with its international growth strategy. The company completed its new factory in Duhok, Iraq, one of its main export markets, and has begun production, sales and distribution operations.
The modern facility, built on a total area of 27,000 square meters, has an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of dry mortar and 5,000 tons of paints and liquid building chemicals. Construction of the factory, machine and equipment installation processes, as well as trial production runs have been successfully completed, and the necessary local licenses and approvals for product sales have been finalized.
With this new investment, Kalekim will gain the advantage of on-site production in Iraq and surrounding markets, increasing logistics and cost efficiency; and will further strengthen its regional competitive position.
Kalekim General Manager Soner Çetinkaya emphasized the importance of the investment in terms of the company's regional strategies, stating:
"We are proud to have completed all preparations at our Iraq facility, which we have worked on carefully, and to have become a local producer in our main export market. The investment of approximately USD 10 million is one of the most concrete and successful examples of our localization strategy. We believe that this strategic investment will both strengthen our presence in the Iraq market and be an important lever in terms of our regional growth targets."
