ASAŞ Invites Everyone to Be a Breath of Fresh Air for the Future

ASAŞ, which aligns its sustainability vision with environmental and social benefit, is initiating a regreening process in the Marmaris Hisarönü region, which burned in 2021.

ASAŞ, one of Turkey's leading industrial enterprises, has added a new initiative to its work in environmental sustainability. As part of a collaboration with Ecording, a United Nations Ecosystem Restoration partner, ASAŞ is contributing to a reforestation process in the Marmaris Hisarönü region, which was damaged by a fire disaster in 2021.

Return to Nature Through Innovative Technology
In the project, seeds of tree species specific to the region will be dispersed using EcoDrone technology. EcoDrone mimics birds and reaches areas that human hands cannot access, bringing seeds into contact with soil. Seeds, protected with a special clay coating to prevent consumption by animals and dispersal by wind, are prepared by disadvantaged women living in regions affected by the global climate crisis. Thus, the project contributes to both nature and social benefit.

Hope for Nature, Breath for the Future
While the planting areas are designated by the General Directorate of Forests (OGM), suitable tree species are selected with the contribution of ecosystem experts. The species identified for Marmaris Hisarönü include Red Pine, Black Pine, Carob, and Laurel.
When the dispersed seeds turn into trees; the regreening of 31,250 m² of damaged area, the reduction of 8,813 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, and the conservation of 450 million litres of water annually are targeted.

These effects demonstrate that the project is not merely an environmental investment, but also a powerful legacy to be left to future generations.

With this project, ASAŞ does not only contribute to nature; it also invites society to be an active part of this process. Through the "You Too Plant a Seed" campaign, users will be able to gift seeds to nature with a single click through www.asaslagelecek.com, a website developed by ASAŞ specifically for the project.

While the campaign aims to raise awareness on environmental issues through shared content, it will demonstrate how everyone can contribute to a better future through small steps. Thus, the goal is to strengthen the bond with nature and support the growth of social responsibility.
