Mete Buyurgan, CEO of Ülker, Appointed to International Role

Mete Buyurgan, who has served as CEO of Ülker since February 2020, has been appointed President for the United Kingdom and Ireland at pladis, Yıldız Holding's global snacking company. Buyurgan joined Yıldız Holding in 2013 as Deputy President of the Food Group and was appointed President of pladis Turkey in 2016.

Buyurgan joined Yıldız Holding in 2013 as Deputy Head of Food Group and was appointed President of pladis Turkey in 2016.

Buyurgan will continue his role as Ülker CEO until 6 April. From 6 April onwards, Özgür Kölükfakı will take over the CEO position.

Under Mete Buyurgan's leadership, pladis Turkey, Central Asia and Eastern Europe have achieved significant accomplishments and investments despite challenging periods at times, and the company has become one of the sector leaders in sustainability.

Mete Buyurgan expressed his excitement about beginning a new journey to contribute to pladis' growth, continuing his remarks as follows: "At Ülker, the leader in the food sector, it has been a source of satisfaction for me to lead the way in sustainability-focused financial, social, innovative and technological steps throughout my tenure. We strengthened our financial performance while increasing our social benefit through projects that would set an example for both the sector and society.

I sincerely thank my valued colleagues whom I worked with during my time at Ülker for their dedicated support and contributions. I would like to say that continuing this successful period at pladis, Yıldız Holding's global snacking company, of which I have always been proud to be part, is exciting for me. I believe that together with my team colleagues in my new role, we will achieve many valuable successes."
