**Merck Announces Senior-Level Appointment**

Esra Doğanay is taking up her new position as Regional Communications Director for Merck Life Sciences as of 1 April.

Esra Doğanay graduated from Galatasaray High School and then Boğaziçi University, followed by completing an EMBA postgraduate programme at Koç University.

Doğanay began her career in the pharmaceutical sector in 1998 at MSD, where she held various positions in corporate relations, corporate communications and stakeholder management for 14 years.

Joining Merck Turkey in 2011, Doğanay served as Operational Communications Director and subsequently as Intercontinental Region Communications Director. She then moved to the Life Sciences Communications team, working first as Communications Business Partner and then as EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Communications Director. During her time in the Life Sciences Communications team, she managed numerous projects including regional meetings, internal and external communications campaigns and crisis communications.

Esra Doğanay is continuing her career of over 20 years as Regional Communications Director for Merck Life Sciences as of 1 April 2025. With this appointment, Esra Doğanay is joining the Life Sciences Communications Leadership Team. The regions reporting directly to Doğanay are APAC (Asia Pacific), China, Americas and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
