Leadership Change at Boehringer Ingelheim Boehringer Ingelheim Turkey's senior management has undergone a transition; Okan Güner, an experienced leader in the pharmaceutical sector, has assumed leadership of the company as General Manager of Boehringer Ingelheim Turkey and Director of the Human Health Business Unit. Okan Güner, an experienced name in the pharmaceutical sector, has taken over the leadership of Boehringer Ingelheim in Turkey, a research and development-focused pharmaceutical company operating with the goal of improving human and animal health. During his 20 years of experience in the sector, Okan Güner has held leadership positions in many different markets, including Russia and Europe as well as Turkey. He assumed his new position as of April 2022. As General Manager of Turkey and Director of the Human Health Business Unit, Güner will be responsible for developing strategies to maintain Turkey's organization's strong position in the region.   Who is Okan Güner? Okan Güner, a graduate of the Chemical Engineering Department at Boğaziçi University, began his career at Borusan Makine. After obtaining his MBA from Pennsylvania State University, Güner joined Pfizer Turkey as a commercial payments manager. After gaining experience in various units of the company over nearly 20 years, ranging from finance to marketing, he assumed the role of Regional Director for Pfizer Upjohn Division Europe Unified Markets (Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia) and subsequently served as General Manager of Pfizer Upjohn Division Turkey and Russia, leading the company's financial and operational performance. Before joining Boehringer Ingelheim Turkey, Güner most recently served as Turkey Country Manager of Viatris, a healthcare company formed through the merger of Mylan and Pfizer Upjohn Division. Throughout his career, Güner has succeeded in performance excellence, leading localization initiatives, managing complex regulatory processes, establishing successful business models, and developing talent.
