Kimpur and Aluform Partner for Sustainable Structures

Kimpur and Aluform Pekintaş combined their efforts to develop next-generation sandwich panel solutions supporting sustainable production. These environmentally friendly sandwich panel systems, which were introduced at the Kimpur stand at the Putech Eurasia Fair held on 26-28 November and drew considerable interest, represent not only industrial responsibility but also an approach accountable to the environment.

By combining the R&D strength of Kimpur, which exports to more than 60 countries across 5 continents worldwide, and the panel production expertise of Aluform Pekintaş, a leading sandwich panel manufacturer in Turkey, two different environmentally friendly sandwich panel systems were developed. Within the scope of the cooperation, current technology and knowledge accumulation in the sector were brought together, marking an important step towards the construction of environmentally friendly and high-performance buildings.

Kimpur aims to reduce environmental impacts in Aluform Pekintaş's production processes and improve sustainability performance throughout the product lifecycle by using bio-based raw materials and next-generation blowing agents in polyurethane system production. These innovative solutions are intended to contribute to the widespread adoption of environmentally friendly approaches in industry, the development of structures compliant with new regulations in the construction sector, and the achievement of sustainability goals for cities.

Environmentally friendly sandwich panels for sustainable cities
The sandwich panel systems developed through the cooperation of Kimpur and Aluform Pekintaş support a new era in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency in the industrial and construction sectors. These systems, standing out for their environmentally friendly properties, make it possible to achieve higher performance goals with lower environmental impact in the sector.

The first of the developed systems is the KIMrigid PIR Sandwich Panel System, which contains approximately 10 percent bio content. The bio-based polyols in its composition are synthesized from natural oil polyols (NOP) or biopolymers derived from vegetable oils through different methods, offering a structure with reduced environmental impact. The Aluform product manufactured with this system is marketed under the name "Alu Bio Secret Fix Façade Panel." This panel achieves a 5 percent reduction in carbon emissions. Thus, Kimpur and Aluform Pekintaş present a solution that minimizes environmental impacts throughout the product lifecycle from production to end user.

The second KIMrigid PIR System, developed in compatibility with next-generation blowing agents, provides 20 percent higher thermal insulation performance. At the same time, it enables the production of 20 percent thinner panels, supporting the construction of lighter and more sustainable buildings; contributing to the reduction of cities' environmental footprint. Thanks to next-generation blowing agents used differently from standard systems, a 7 percent reduction in carbon emissions was observed in panel production. The Aluform façade panel manufactured with this system is presented to the sector as "Aluform Xcore Secret Fix Façade Panel."

Both environmentally friendly panel systems aim to create positive effects throughout the product lifecycle and support companies' sustainability goals. These innovative solutions jointly developed by Kimpur and Aluform Pekintaş stand out as strong examples in terms of environmentally friendly innovation and sustainability commitments.
