PepsiCo Turkey is leading a significant transformation in water resource protection through the One Drop One World project, conducted in collaboration with the Nature Conservation Center (DKM) in line with the Net Water Positive vision, one of the cornerstones of PepsiCo Positive (pep+) strategy. As of 2024, according to DKM data, the project has achieved water savings of 735 million liters, with the target of reaching 1.6 billion liters by the end of 2025, equivalent to 674 Olympic swimming pools.
The project, conducted with an investment exceeding TRY 60 million, stands as one of the strongest examples of PepsiCo Turkey's sustainability approach focused on efficient water use, returning used water to nature, and reducing water risk in agricultural production.
Comprehensive Transformation in High Water Risk Regions
The project aims to reduce water use in agriculture by increasing farmers' access to modern irrigation techniques in Adana, Mersin, Manisa and Izmir.
Farmers receive training on climate change and drought mitigation, water efficiency, soil health, organic matter increase and proper irrigation methods.
Through the project, drip irrigation practices are being expanded across approximately 3,000 decares of land, while direct support is being provided for water recovery in basins where factories are located.
PepsiCo Turkey General Manager Ergün Günay: "Water is now an urgent and vital issue for everyone"
PepsiCo Turkey General Manager Ergün Günay, drawing attention to the growing dimensions of the global water crisis, stated:
"According to the United Nations 2024 World Water Development Report, 1.4 billion people have been affected by drought and water-related problems over the past 20 years. This picture shows that water is no longer merely an environmental issue; it is our most critical matter in terms of food security, economy and social life."

Günay emphasized that PepsiCo Turkey has made water management a strategic priority and continued:
"Through drip irrigation work we implemented in Manisa, Izmir and Tarsus, we returned 100% of the water we used at our Manisa factory in 2024, 94% at Izmir and 58% at Tarsus back to nature. During the 2023–2024 period, we achieved total water savings of 735 million liters. Our target for 2025 is to reach 1.6 billion liters."
DKM Management Board Chairman Uğur Zeydanlı: "Agriculture is the most critical sector for water efficiency"
Nature Conservation Center Management Board Chairman Uğur Zeydanlı, noting that the water crisis will become a more important agenda item in the coming years, stated:
"Drought and misuse of water are increasing pressure on our water resources. The agriculture sector is the most critical area for transformation both due to its high share in water consumption and its efficiency potential. This project stands out as a successful model of farmer–private sector–civil society collaboration."
PepsiCo's Long-Term Contribution to Turkey's Water Future
Through the One Drop One World Project, PepsiCo Turkey aims to reduce water risk both in production processes and in the agricultural supply chain, while continuing to increase investments in sustainable water management.
The company will continue to lead efforts that protect water resources, increase efficiency and provide long-term benefits by implementing projects in more regions in line with its Net Water Positive target in the coming period.
