Sintek B.V. Joins the Ranks of Companies Authorized for Carbon Declaration in Imports to Europe
With the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), customs processes for heavy industry products imported into the European Union market have been carried to a new dimension. SINTEK B.V., operating under the umbrella of Sintek Group, which is active on an international scale in the fields of engineering, contracting and project management, took a critical operational step by obtaining "Authorized CBAM Declarant" status from the Dutch Emissions Authority (NEa).

Through the authorization, which became official with the decision dated 7 September 2026, SINTEK B.V. gained the right to import CBAM-covered materials sourced from Türkiye and third countries outside the EU in its own name, submit carbon declarations, and directly carry out certificate obligations. Through this, the company aims to prevent possible regulatory obstacles and supply disruptions that could occur at customs.

First Annual Declaration to Be Submitted in 2027
Pursuant to the CBAM regulation, which the EU has fully implemented as of 2026, SINTEK B.V. will submit its first verified annual declaration regarding the imports it carried out during 2026 through the CBAM Registry by **30 September 2027**. The scope of the declaration will include the quantity of imported products, the embedded carbon emissions arising from production processes, and the CBAM certificates corresponding to these emissions.

"We Have Ensured Supply Continuity and Operational Assurance"
Evaluating the innovations the system brings to heavy industry and import processes, **SINTEK B.V. CEO İlker Bozkurt** stated that CBAM has a binding structure covering the cement, iron-steel, aluminum, fertilizer, electricity and hydrogen sectors, and used the following words:

"CBAM is based on the calculation and declaration of carbon emissions arising during the production process of products imported from outside the European Union, and on the payment of a corresponding carbon price. Importers are required to report not only the quantity of products but also the embedded carbon emissions, and to surrender CBAM certificates corresponding to these emissions. In order for these transactions to be carried out by companies in their own name, it is mandatory to hold 'Authorized CBAM Declarant' status.

As SINTEK B.V., we have completed the official authorization required by this process. Thus, we will be able to import CBAM-covered products that we source from Türkiye and other countries outside the European Union in our own name, and directly manage carbon declaration and certificate obligations. This authorization has been an important step not only for regulatory compliance in our projects in Europe, but also in terms of supply continuity and operational assurance."

Sintek Group, which offers turnkey engineering solutions in industrial facilities, energy and infrastructure projects, has further strengthened its sustainable trade operations and green transformation compliance in the European market with this authorization.
