Four Awards from Stevie Awards for GSK Türkiye

The Türkiye operation of global biopharma company GSK has achieved international success with its practices in employee development and learning. GO GSK (Gelişim Okulu GSK) Program, which GSK Türkiye has been running for more than four years, was deemed worthy of the Bronze Stevie® Award in four separate categories within the scope of the Stevie Awards for Great Employers, in which more than a thousand applications from 38 countries and regions worldwide were evaluated.
GSK Türkiye received awards in all of the categories of Coaching and Mentoring, Competency and Skill Development or Management, Upskilling/Reskilling of Employees, and Most Innovative Learning and Development Program.
GO GSK brings different functions together around a common development goal
The GO GSK Program, launched by GSK Türkiye to develop employees’ competencies, strengthen communication and collaboration among different functions, and create a shared way of working, offers an approach that integrates learning and development activities with daily business processes.
Within the scope of the program, employees from finance, commercial excellence and different business functions at the head office are brought together to carry out joint projects and development work. Aiming to strengthen the culture of continuous development at GSK Türkiye through employee participation, the program also helps teams adapt to changing business needs.
Commenting on the role of the program in improving collaboration between different functions, GSK Türkiye Human Resources Director Merve Özerkaya said, “At GSK Türkiye, we develop our culture not only with the ownership of the leadership team, but with the ownership of all employees. As a result of this approach, within what is known as the Brand Team, which we formed together with our head office employees and which we call the Value Team at GSK, we launched the GO GSK Program under marketing leadership. In this program, we bring together different functions at the head office, ranging from finance to commercial excellence. With this program, through which we have once again seen the value of working together and creating shared value, we are delighted to have won the Bronze Stevie® Award in all four categories we applied for at the Stevie Awards for Great Employers. This award is the shared success of all GSK Türkiye employees,” she said.
Integrating competency development into business processes
The GO GSK Program addresses competency development not merely as a separate training activity, but together with employees’ daily ways of working and the implementation of business strategies. In this context, the program aims to ensure that teams gain competencies that can respond to changing business needs, increase collaboration, and be prepared for the future world of work.
İrem Tek, GSK Türkiye Specialty Medicine & HIV Business Unit Director, who leads the program on the brand teams’ side and is the project sponsor, noted that the program has been ongoing for more than four years and said the following:
“GO GSK, which we run at GSK Türkiye with the contribution of our project team made up of head office employees, stands out by integrating competency development into our teams’ ways of working and the processes of implementing business strategies, rather than treating it as a standalone learning activity. We are very pleased that our program, which we have been running for more than four years, has been crowned with this award. I would like to thank all my colleagues who contributed to the program.”
Noting that with GO GSK they focus on developing employees’ competencies for changing business needs, İrem Tek said, “With GO GSK, a comprehensive transformation program, we continue our efforts to make our culture of continuous development more agile, data-driven, and aligned with the competencies of the future.”
The four Bronze Stevie® Awards received within the scope of the Stevie Awards for Great Employers stand out as one of GSK Türkiye’s international achievements in the field of employee development, learning and competency management practices.
