Şenpiliç Takes Pioneering Steps in the Sector with Solar Power Plant Investments

Şenpiliç, Turkey's leading integrated poultry meat producer prioritizing sustainable production in the food sector, has activated solar power plants (SPP) at various facilities to increase clean energy use in production processes. Through these investments, the company generated a total of 33.47 million kWh of renewable electricity during 2022–2025, preventing approximately 20,958 tonnes of carbon emissions. This environmental impact is equivalent to the annual effect of approximately 953,000 trees or 4,556 passenger vehicles.

Şenpiliç, Turkey's leading integrated poultry meat producer, has been expanding renewable energy use across different stages of production processes through SPPs activated at its Feed and Hatchery facilities. Thanks to these investments, which cover slaughterhouses, hatcheries, feed plants and egg production facilities, the company has generated a total of 33.47 million kWh of renewable electricity during 2022–2025, strengthening the use of nature-friendly energy in its operational structure.

Carbon reduction equivalent to 953,000 trees
Şenpiliç's solar energy investments increase renewable energy use in production processes through SPP systems planned based on the facilities' annual energy consumption. The Kadirli and Söğütlü slaughterhouses, egg production facilities, hatcheries and the feed plant in Adana meet a significant portion of their energy needs from renewable sources. In this context, the company prevented approximately 20,960 tonnes of carbon emissions during 2022–2025. According to equivalency comparisons made, this reduction corresponds to the annual environmental impact of 953,000 trees or 4,556 passenger vehicles.

"SPP investments will continue at every stage of production"
Ertan Üstün, Assistant General Manager of Production at Şenpiliç, stating that they will continue SPP investments with sustainability responsibility, said: "We do not view our solar energy investments as limited to specific areas. We position SPPs as part of a holistic approach spanning different stages of production. In this way, we aim to meet more of our energy needs from clean sources and expand the use of renewable energy in our production processes."
