Merck Türkiye Receives "Diversity and Inclusion Management Award"
Merck Türkiye, which stands out with its strong corporate culture built around inclusiveness, belonging and equal opportunities, has received an award in the "Value-Creating Practices – Diversity and Inclusion Management" category at the İnsana Değer Ödülleri (Value for People Awards), organized this year for the 17th time by PERYÖN.
Merck Turkey stands out with its strong corporate culture built on inclusion, belonging and equal opportunities. The company has been recognized at this year's 17th Human Values Awards, organized by PERYON, in the "Value-Creating Practices – Diversity and Inclusion Management" category.
Merck Turkey distinguishes itself through its Human Resources approach centered on belonging and inclusion, social impact projects and practices that strengthen employee experience. At the 17th Human Values Awards organized by PERYON this year, Merck Turkey received an award in the "Value-Creating Practices – Diversity and Inclusion Management" category.
This award was given as a result of Merck Turkey's committed approach to creating an inclusive work environment through strong Human Resources practices centered on employee experience, implemented under the EmpowerHer umbrella approach, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects in which Merck Volunteers play an active role, and Belonging and Inclusion initiatives.
EmpowerHer is an umbrella approach at Merck Turkey aimed at empowering women and all employees, centered on equality, inclusion and belonging; it guides all work from Human Resources practices to social impact projects. Practices implemented in line with this approach include;
• Supporting employees during critical periods in their lives through Important Moments Leave,
• Covering all costs of fertility treatment processes for employees who aspire to parenthood through Fertility Treatment Assistance,
• Inclusive benefit practices such as including all partners in health insurance coverage regardless of marital status.
Today, the fact that women make up 48% of Merck Turkey's workforce and 53% of the leadership team stands out as one of the concrete outcomes of the EmpowerHer approach.
Merck Turkey extends the EmpowerHer approach beyond company boundaries by undertaking projects aimed at empowering women in education and health. The Women Leaders Program for Health Direction, Health for Women podcast series, mentoring collaborations and scholarship support provided to 25 women medical students affected by the earthquake under the Merck Turkey 25th Year Scholarship Fund are among the important examples of this approach.
