Akçansa received the "Green Transformation" category award at the TİSK Common Future Awards for its Marmara Islands Artificial Reef Project.

Akçansa wins TİSK Shared Future Awards in the 'Green Transition' category with the Marmara Islands Artificial Reef Project.

Akçansa, a joint venture of Sabancı Holding and Heidelberg Materials, has been awarded in the 'Green Transition' category of TİSK's 'Shared Future Awards' for the Marmara Islands Artificial Reef Project, implemented in cooperation with the Marmara Island Gündoğdu Village Development and Beautification Association and with the advisory support of Balıkesir University and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University.

Projects competing within TİSK's Shared Future Awards program were evaluated by a jury panel comprising representatives from the business world, press, sports and academia. Approximately 20,000 public votes also contributed to the evaluation process.

The awards ceremony, where winners were announced in the categories of 'Green Transition', 'Together It's Possible', 'Occupational Health and Safety', 'The Future of Our Work', 'Creating Value for Women', 'Opening the Way for Youth', 'Social Cohesion' and 'Digitalization', took place in Ankara on 10 December. Akçansa's award in the green transition category recognizes projects that create impact on the environment and global ecosystem for a sustainable world.

Akçansa's Marmara Islands Artificial Reef Project was launched in 2023 with the aim of supporting the habitat, feeding and increased biodiversity of marine life. The 280 artificial reefs placed on the seabed of the Marmara Sea, 160 of which were produced as 3D structures, have provided living space for 40 different marine organisms, including 10 fish species, over the two years that have passed.

Akçansa General Manager Vecih Yılmaz made the following statement regarding the award:
"Our Marmara Islands Artificial Reef project is a special initiative that protects the marine ecosystem and contributes to biodiversity. We are very pleased that this work, backed by scientific data, has been recognized with an award in the 'Green Transition' field.
