L'Oréal Turkey announced the second cohort of graduates from the "L'Oréal Turkey 50+ Tech Women Guru Program," launched to support women's active participation in technology and digital transformation processes. Conducted in collaboration with SistersLab - Association for Women in Science and Technology, the program reached more than 5,000 women over 50 years old this year.
L'Oréal Turkey continues its work in line with its techno-beauty vision and inclusive approach, aiming to develop women's digital skills through the program and support their more active participation in social life and employment. L'Oréal Turkey employees who contribute to the program on a voluntary basis also provide guidance to participants during training and mentoring periods.
Exceeding its first-year participation target by 250 percent and reaching more than 3,000 women, the program expanded its scope further in the second year. This year, a total of 25 training modules were offered on topics including artificial intelligence, digital production, financial literacy, digital brand creation, and safe digital use. While the majority of participants are women new to the program, the strongest applications came from Istanbul, Izmir, and Ankara. The program also attracted participation from Germany, the Netherlands, and the United States.
İrem Karaoda Tanrıkulu, Corporate Communications and Engagement Director & Country Sustainability Leader at L'Oréal Turkey, noted that the program supports equal opportunity in digital transformation, stating:
"We believe that technology and digital transformation create real value only when they are inclusive. We view women over 50 not as individuals left behind by the transformation, but as a powerful part of this transformation with their knowledge, experience, and life experience. Through our program, we aim to strengthen women's digital and social skills, support their confidence, and increase intergenerational interaction."
With the reverse mentoring model implemented in the program's second year, young women aged 18-35 and women over 50 come together. Within the framework of the six-month virtual mentoring program, the digital knowledge and experience of young women will be brought together with the life and professional experience of participants.
This year, program content was also expanded based on feedback from the first cohort. The goal is not only for participants to adapt to the digital world but also to become more visible as productive individuals in this field. Through the alumni network to be created as part of the program, women are expected to remain in contact after training and support one another.
