Mini Power Plant Developed That Can Be Fitted to Clothing

Wearable Mini Power System Developed CW Enerji Mühendislik Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş., a company working on solar energy systems in Antalya, has developed a solar-powered mini power plant in its R&D department that also enables charging of various electronic devices. Operating in the Organized Industrial Zone, the company began its work based on the idea of allowing easy outdoor charging of electronic devices such as mobile phones and tablets. Engineers focused on mini power plants that can be mounted on jackets, t-shirts and beach towels and generate electricity from the sun have created an invention that will ease the lives of people who work outdoors regularly or spend time hiking, at the beach during vacations. The company, which has miniaturized solar panels and made them more flexible, produced mini power plants that generate electrical energy from the sun by adding a small device. By mounting them on the front or back of jackets, t-shirts, or on the ends of beach towels, the company has developed a system that allows phones or tablets to be charged with solar energy while walking or sunbathing. Board Chairman Tarık Sarvan told the AA correspondent that they held brainstorming sessions in their research and production unit to address the charging problem frequently faced by people who cannot go a single moment without their mobile phones. Sarvan, who explained that during his time working on construction sites he did not have the ability to charge his phone everywhere and frequently searched for outlets, stated that they have implemented a wonderful project that could make the solar energy offered by nature usable in daily life. Sarvan, noting that they produce mini power plants to prevent energy problems for people who work outdoors due to their profession, go on nature walks, engage in shepherding or sunbathe on the beach, spoke as follows: "We may not always find an environment where we can charge our phones. We have developed a system that can be mounted on jackets and clothing that converts sunlight into electrical energy. With this, you can charge your mobile phones or power banks while walking or climbing mountains. Wherever you see the sun in summer or winter, you have electricity. You can charge it several times a day. For the price of a power bank, you can get such an energy station. The price varies depending on the size and use. There are models starting from TRY 100 and going higher. It is a product that everyone can afford and can use for at least 30-40 years." he said. Sarvan, noting that the flexible prototype is a space-saving product, stressed that the product can be carried anywhere. Pointing out that they have also developed a thin, elongated product for beach towels, Sarvan stated that the mini power plant is mounted on the edge of the towel and supplies electricity as long as the sun is visible on the beach. Expressing that they are focusing on such studies in order to use the sun in every field, Sarvan said, "The sun is a very important energy source. In fact, about one loaf of bread falls per square meter, if we have a 100 square meter house, 100 loaves of bread worth of energy falls on our roof every day. What matters is being able to use it." he said. Noting that they have started serial production of some products, Sarvan said they are facing serious demand abroad. Sarvan stated, "The biggest problem in third-world countries is electricity. There are long-term power outages in city centers. In these countries, it is a great luxury for every person to always have with them a system that can produce enough energy to operate their mobile phone. There is enormous demand abroad, and we will meet this demand with CW Enerji and our partners." he said.
