Through our 'Leave a Green Footprint for Nature' project launched for this purpose, we have brought relief to nature by reducing carbon emissions in many areas of the supply chain, from procurement to shipping. Our efforts toward green transformation will continue to increase in the coming period." The Association for Sustainable Production and Consumption (SÜT-D) was established to raise awareness in Turkey regarding sustainable production and consumption and to encourage activities in this field. The association recognized 2021's 'Low Carbon Heroes' at the 7th Istanbul Carbon Summit held online. At the organization where companies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lower their carbon footprint, thereby strengthening the country's resilience against climate crisis, are awarded, Kalekim was among the honored brands. Kalekim was recognized as the 2021 'Low Carbon Hero' in the chemistry category for its 'Leave a Green Footprint for Nature' project.

"We Will Continue to Work to Leave a Better World for Our Future"

In his statement, Kalekim General Director Timur Karaoğlu noted that global warming and climate crisis have forced humanity to reconsider many things. Karaoğlu said: "What we have experienced in the past few years has shown us once again that our natural resources are not unlimited. For a sustainable world, today we must protect nature and greenery more than ever before. I hope that the European Green Deal, which the European Union (EU) has adopted with the target of reducing carbon emissions by 50 percent by 2030 and achieving zero carbon emissions in 2050, will be a turning point on this matter. As Kalekim, the "Take Good Care of the World" movement initiated by our Group provides us with guidance and illuminates our path toward creating a sustainable future. In this direction, we will continue to work to leave a better world for our future. Through our efforts in the efficient and healthy use of resources, reduction of waste at source and its recovery through separation, we aim to leave a green footprint for nature," he said. Providing further comments on the 'Leave a Green Footprint for Nature' project they are conducting, Timur Karaoğlu emphasized that companies are expected to focus on social benefit while considering ecosystem requirements. Noting that Kalekim pursues this strategy, Karaoğlu stated: "One of the most important factors underlying the successful business results Kalekim has achieved in recent years has been this perspective."
