Chemical Sector's August Exports Rose 2.6% to $2.6 Billion

According to Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) data, Türkiye's exports reached USD 21.8 billion in August 2025. The chemical sector accounted for 12% of total exports with USD 2.6 billion in exports. The sector's exports for the January–August period approached USD 22 billion.
According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), Turkey's exports reached USD 21.8 billion in August 2025. The chemical sector accounted for USD 2.6 billion in exports, representing 12% of total exports. The sector's exports for the January–August period approached USD 22 billion.
Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB), evaluated the results as follows:
"Our chemical sector achieved USD 2.6 billion in exports in August and recorded a 2.6% increase compared to the same month last year. Following strong growth in July, we are pleased that the upward trend continued this month. For the January–August period, our exports approached USD 22 billion. As the second-largest exporting sector, we are making a significant contribution to the country's economy. New incentives and support from the government are critical to maintaining our competitive strength and reaching stronger figures. As İKMİB, we will continue to support our sector in all areas."

- Plastics and products: USD 785.6 million (-8.15%)
- Mineral fuels and products: USD 523.4 million (-0.47%)
- Inorganic chemicals: USD 315.6 million (+25.15%)
- Essential oils, cosmetics and soap: USD 205.2 million (+9.01%)
- Rubber and rubber articles: USD 139 million (+4.19%)
- Pharmaceutical products: USD 136.9 million (+12.97%)
- Fertilisers: USD 82.6 million (+113.09%) – the product group showing the highest growth
