İzocam Calls for Awareness: "Energy Saving Means Protecting the Future"

İzocam, Turkey's leading insulation brand, issued a statement on the occasion of 31 October World Savings Day, emphasizing that energy conservation holds great importance not only economically but also in terms of environmental sustainability. With the message "Energy Conservation Protects the Future," İzocam called for heightened awareness, noting that protecting the future represents the most valuable form of conservation, beyond merely preserving energy.

Celebrating its 60th year of establishment with the theme "We Will Be There," İzocam has worked continuously for 60 years to promote energy efficiency awareness in Turkey. Highlighting insulation as one of the most effective methods of energy conservation, İzocam General Director Murat Savcı stated, "Through insulation performed in compliance with regulations, energy savings exceeding 60 percent can be achieved in buildings. With the Nearly Zero Energy Building (nZEB) concept, this rate can increase to as much as 90 percent."

"Energy conservation is the most important investment in the future"
Pointing out that Turkey pays billions of dollars annually for energy imports, Savcı said, "One of the most significant reasons for our country's current account deficit is energy imports, which account for approximately 20-25 percent of all imports. Forty percent of the energy we consume is used in buildings, and 30 percent in industry. Therefore, strengthening conservation awareness is critically important both economically and environmentally." He added that this year's updated TS 825 Heat Insulation Rules Standard for Buildings has resulted in at least a 25 percent increase in energy efficiency. Noting that approximately 25 percent of buildings in Turkey fall under insulation regulations, Savcı said, "Insulation is an investment that pays for itself in a short period. Beyond contributing to the country's economy, it has significant environmental impact in terms of reducing harmful gas emissions."

Turkey's insulation sector's first sustainability report from İzocam
İzocam defines conservation not merely as using resources carefully, but also as protecting the future. In line with this understanding, the company achieved a first in Turkey's insulation sector by publishing its 2024 Sustainability Report.

Prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 2021 Universal Standard, the report transparently presents İzocam's environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance. Savcı stated, "This report, which we published in our 60th year, supports our sustainability vision with data and presents an exemplary model for both our sector and our country's economy."

Carrying conservation awareness into business processes through twin transition
İzocam is implementing a "twin transition" strategy by placing the concept of conservation at the center of its business processes. The company is simultaneously advancing digitalization and environmental sustainability goals.

Since 2020, İzocam has digitalized all processes from production to sales, from customer relations to energy management, enhancing operational efficiency by transitioning to the most modern ERP system. Strengthening decision-making processes through data analytics, RPA (robotic process automation) and artificial intelligence-based projects, the company launched the "Zero Waste to Landfill" project, which became operational at the end of 2023, ensuring the recycling of production waste and making İzocam one of the first companies in Turkey to implement this practice without legal obligation.

Contributing to the circular economy through the use of recycled materials reaching 80 percent in its Camyün products, İzocam is implementing projects that reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions through the WCM (World Class Manufacturing) model. Emphasizing that resource conservation is also a form of savings, the company aims to spread sustainable production understanding throughout society.
