Gamze Yüceland, General Manager of Takeda Turkey, Appointed Country President of Takeda Canada

Takeda, a Japanese pharmaceutical company among the world's 15 largest drug manufacturers with a long-established history and which began operations in Turkey in 2009, continues to export its successful employees abroad, with Takeda Turkey's General Manager following suit. Gamze Yüceland, who has served as General Manager of Takeda Turkey for 3 years, will continue in her role at Takeda as Country President of Takeda Canada. Yüceland, who will assume her new position as of April 2018, will also be a member of the EUCAN (Europe – Canada) Region Board of Directors. Canada, where a Turkish person will serve as Country President in the pharmaceutical sector for the first time, is the world's 10th largest pharmaceutical market. Takeda, which began operations in Canada in 2009, operates in important therapeutic areas such as oncology and gastroenterology.

Gamze Yüceland, who has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, has held many different positions both domestically and internationally in the industry.

During the 3 years that she led Takeda Turkey, Yüceland played an active role in establishing Takeda's patient-centric approach in Turkey and pioneered successful launches in oncology, gastroenterology and hematology, which are Takeda's focal areas.

During Yüceland's tenure as General Manager in Turkey, human resources increased from 120 to 300 employees while Takeda achieved 4-fold growth in the Turkish pharmaceutical market. During this period, 2 successful female executives from Takeda Turkey were appointed as senior managers in the EMEA region.

Gamze Yüceland and her team brought a successful period to Takeda Turkey through international awards in Human Resources, and these developments also supported the reflection of Takeda's commitment to talent development and valuing people.
