WACKER
WACKER introduces new powder dispersions with outstanding balance between tensile adhesion strength and flexibility.
Istanbul, 22 March 2018 – WACKER will present VINNAPAS® 4240 N flexible polymeric powder dispersions for the first time at Paint Istanbul, offering an outstanding balance between tensile adhesion strength and flexibility. This vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) based powder is particularly suited for various wall applications such as adhesives and leveling mortars in composite thermal insulation systems or topcoat plasters. At Paint Istanbul, WACKER will also display for the first time in the region products from its easy-cleaning applications portfolio: PRIMIS® SAF 9000/9001, SILRES® BS 710 and SILRES® BS 6920. Paint Istanbul will take place from 22-24 March at Istanbul Expo Center. WACKER is expanding its polymeric powder dispersions portfolio with VINNAPAS® 4240 N, which combines high flexibility with excellent adhesive properties. VINNAPAS® 4240 N has a low glass transition temperature due to its high ethylene content in the polymer chain. As a result, it exhibits good crack-bridging properties and improves the flexibility of mineral mortars. This allows stresses caused by temperature fluctuations, weathering, shrinkage in building materials or vibrations to be effectively balanced. The flexible powder dispersion also has particularly good resistance to hard impacts; this property plays a very important role both in composite thermal insulation systems and in topcoat plasters.Additionally, VINNAPAS® 4240 N has a positive effect on the cohesion of the final product and thereby improves adhesion to both inorganic and organic surfaces. This enables, for example, in adhesive and leveling mortars in composite thermal insulation systems, very strong adhesion between EPS boards and walls. Higher cohesion also provides improved mechanical properties, for instance in thick-layer topcoat plasters such as thermal insulation mortars. VINNAPAS® 4240 N can be well combined with other polymer binders. In two-component thermal insulation slurries, when VINNAPAS® 4240 N is used in the dry component together with the soft VINNAPAS® 760 ED dispersion, very high tensile adhesion strength is achieved in the final product while the crack-bridging properties of the system are not compromised.Easy-care, dirt-repellent surfaces
At the 2018 Paint Istanbul Fair, WACKER will present its solutions for applying dirt repellents to various surfaces for the first time in the region. The PRIMIS® SAF 9000 series dispersions, which are simultaneously both oil and water repellent thanks to their special composition, are examples of these solutions. In the final product, you can protect walls, concrete and stone surfaces from a wide variety of stains ranging from brown to red wine and paint markers. For concrete and flowing screed surfaces with heavy traffic, the company's innovative binder based on alfasilane technology, SILRES® BS 6920, provides the best level of stain protection and particularly high durability: maintenance of treated surfaces becomes easier, effort spent on cleaning is minimized. With SILRES® BS 710, WACKER has developed a high-performance anti-graffiti active substance concentrate: thanks to a permanent, elastic protective silicone film, graffiti can be easily washed away with water, adhesives and posters applied with adhesive can be removed without problems. A particular advantage: the product contains neither organic tin compounds nor oximes and is formulated with low solvent content. Laboratory tests show that the new VINNAPAS® 4240 N powder dispersions already after just one day demonstrate better tensile adhesion strength and tensile resistance compared to conventional products on the market. This enables very strong adhesion between EPS boards and walls in composite thermal insulation systems. (Source: Wacker Chemie AG)News: ZEYNEP ŞEN
