FRX Polymers® Announces Nofia® Polyurethane Foam for Automotive Interiors

Polymeric flame retardant (FR) solutions manufacturer FRX Polymers Inc. has announced the availability of Nofia® phosphonates for use in low volatile organic compound (VOC) polyurethane foam production for automotive interior applications. These low-VOC PUR flexible foam products deliver significant improvements in cabin air quality for vehicles. Nofia phosphonate polymeric halogen-free FR replaces small-molecule volatile FR additives in PUR flexible foam products used in automotive interiors and exteriors, eliminating odors in vehicle cabins while meeting other critical structural requirements. Due to their polymeric structure and reaction with isocyanates that integrate them into the PUR product backbone, Nofia FR products enable these foam products to comply with various automotive fire safety standards as well as new general VOC and air quality regulations for global and regional vehicle manufacturers, including fogging standards. These include the new GB/T 27630-201X standard mandated in China.
