Danfoss Steps Up Fight Against Global Warming
Global leader in energy efficiency and low CO2 emission technology and solutions, Danfoss commits to achieving CO2 neutrality across all worldwide operations by 2030 at the latest.
Danfoss, a world leader in heating, cooling, motor control systems and power solutions that has significantly reduced global energy intensity in recent years, is launching additional initiatives to further reduce energy consumption and transition all current energy demand across its operations to renewable sources. To meet its goal of becoming CO2 neutral across all worldwide operations by 2030 at the latest, Danfoss has set numerous measures including converting its entire company fleet to electric vehicles.
Danfoss President and CEO Kim Fausing commented on the matter as follows: "Focus on energy efficiency, cross-sector collaboration and electrification are prerequisites for a sustainable future. These values form the foundation of our work and the solutions we provide to our customers. Decarbonizing our business operations—for instance by using waste heat from manufacturing and data center processes as surplus energy—is a natural step for us. To fulfill our climate responsibility and achieve our targets, we are accelerating electrification and incorporating renewable energy into our processes. We have much more work to do and will continue to demonstrate that genuine green growth is truly possible. Danfoss is working on detailed plans to achieve its targets, including balancing potential CO2 impact, commercial factors and long-term factory footprint considerations.
Danfoss, whose general principle is "energy efficiency first," places great emphasis on renewable sources.
Electrification powered by renewable sources will also enable Danfoss to decarbonize its operations. Sustainability is a positive sign for our customers, our planet and humanity. As an industry leader, we believe that achieving ambitious climate targets requires both decarbonizing our own operations and providing solutions that break the link between economic growth and energy consumption, thereby reducing energy needs. Danfoss is joining a global movement of pioneering companies that have adopted the most ambitious goal of the Paris Agreement—limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Danfoss is communicating its commitment to combating global warming by participating in the UN Global Compact's Business Ambition for 1.5°C—Our Only Future initiative.Advertisement
