BEDAŞ Wins Award for "Pad Mounted Transformer Substation"

BEDAŞ’s compact transformer substation project, one of many projects the company has brought to the sector through its R&D efforts, ranked third among 54 projects presented at the 3rd R&D Training and Dissemination Workshop. The “Pad Mounted Transformer Substation” project, actively used at BEDAŞ’s Sefaköy Operations Campus, will serve as a model for the sector.
Through research and development work, BEDAŞ won numerous projects for the sector. The compact transformer substation project earned third place among 54 projects presented at the 3rd R&D Education and Dissemination Workshop. The "Pad Mounted Transformer Substation" Project, actively used at BEDAŞ's Sefaköy Operations Campus, will serve as a model for the sector.
As part of efforts to disseminate products and outputs from R&D projects in the energy sector, the 3rd R&D Education and Dissemination Workshop was held between 31 October and 2 November, organized by the Electricity Distribution Services Association (ELDER) in cooperation with the Energy Experts Association, under the coordination of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
During the workshop, a total of 54 dissemination projects and 17 Domestic Software Ecosystem (DSE) projects were presented. Boğaziçi Electricity Distribution Co. Inc. (BEDAŞ), which has brought numerous projects to the electricity distribution sector to date, achieved third place with its "Pad Mounted Transformer Substation" Project.
A model study for the sector
BEDAŞ's project deemed worthy of receiving an R&D award, the "Pad Mounted Transformer Substation," was designed in a compact form with low volume for use in areas of distribution networks experiencing space constraints. Through the project, the dimensions of the transformer substation with all equipment mounted on a pad were reduced by 30 percent compared to equivalent units. The transformer substation actively used at BEDAŞ's Sefaköy Operations Campus became a model study for the sector.
Projects showcased over three days
At the 3rd R&D Education and Dissemination Workshop, electricity distribution companies had the opportunity to physically present their products at designated booths. Participants visited company booths over three days, mutually evaluated and examined projects, and held discussions regarding the implementation of projects considered to be beneficial. Following evaluations, successful R&D projects were awarded on the final day.
