Award Ceremony Held for Successful Industrial Enterprises
Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO) presented 94 plaques across 5 categories and awards to 72 companies and 2 young entrepreneurs at its Successful Industrial Enterprises Awards Ceremony.
EBSO held the awards ceremony for successful industrial enterprises from 2019 and 2020, which could not be held for 2 years due to the pandemic, at the IZQ Innovation Center.
EBSO Board Chairman Ender Yorgancılar made the following remarks:
"We have seen throughout history that cyclically difficult periods have underscored the importance of production even more. The pandemic is the latest example. The real sector, with its dynamic, flexible, entrepreneurial and bold moves, demonstrated commendable performance during a period when everyone was confined to their homes and uncertain about what to do. [caption id="attachment_147696" align="aligncenter"] ENDER YORGANCILAR[/caption] We saw this at every stage, from our rising export figures to our growth rates, from foreign currency inflows to rising orders. Our industrialists turned a global crisis into an opportunity despite all difficulties. This is confirmed by the 2021 gross domestic product data by province announced in recent weeks. The main driver of Izmir's growth, which is above the country average, is expansion in manufacturing. In 2020, manufacturing's share in Izmir's sectoral distribution was 20 percent, rising to 22 percent in 2021. This is your success."EBSO Assembly Chairman İbrahim Gökçüoğlu also said the following on the matter:
"From yesterday to today, the preferability of industry in terms of sustainable performance has become more important than ever. Especially when global economic risks and uncertainties are mounting daily and domestic issues are added to our own internal dynamics, production has become a far more critical strategy for our country. These successes will undoubtedly be a source of hope as we move forward in our aim to increase industrial capacity and quality. Today, we have the opportunity to reward a certain number of successful industrialists. However, we know that whoever contributes to the country through investment and production, through the employment they provide, through the foreign currency they bring in, through the taxes they pay—each of them deserves applause." At the ceremony, awards were presented to the top 5 large companies with the highest production and investment in 2019 and 2020, with Star Rafineri, PETKİM and TÜPRAŞ ranking among the top 3 large companies with the highest production and investment. At the ceremony, in addition to the top 5 SMEs with the highest production and investment in 2019 and 2020, companies that stood out in production and investment in trade committees in 2019 and 2020 received their awards. Young entrepreneurs Dilara Uyar and Burak Beşer, selected in 2019 and 2020, also received awards at the ceremony.Advertisement
