ASAŞ Showcased Its 150MN Extrusion Press Investment at InnoTrans 2026

ASAŞ, one of Türkiye’s leading industrial companies, showcased its advanced manufacturing capabilities for the rail systems and mobility sectors at InnoTrans 2026. At the fair held in Berlin between September 22-25, the company presented its capacity in large-scale aluminum profile production, achieved through its 150MN extrusion press investment, to international industry professionals.

ASAŞ’s new investment enables the production of large-scale, high-strength aluminum profiles with precise tolerances for sectors requiring high engineering standards, particularly rail systems as well as automotive, aviation and energy.

Profile production up to 30 meters with the 150MN extrusion press

With its 150MN investment, positioned as Europe’s highest-capacity extrusion press, ASAŞ can produce single-piece, large cross-section aluminum profiles up to 670 mm in height, 1,000 mm in width and 30 meters in length.

The system also offers seamless tube production capability up to 550 mm in diameter. This technology enables the use of weldless, high-strength products in applications involving high pressure, heavy mechanical loads and safety-critical conditions.

The ability to produce large-scale profiles as a single piece contributes to reducing the need for joining and welding, particularly in rail systems and wagon production. This is expected to support the development of lighter, more durable and structurally reliable designs.

End-to-end production for rail systems from ASAŞ

While aluminum solutions play a significant role in providing high performance and energy efficiency in modern rail systems, ASAŞ is extending its production capabilities beyond extrusion.

The company operates as one of the few facilities in the world capable of producing complete train bodies, combining production processes starting from casting with extrusion, CNC machining, advanced welding and final sub-assembly capabilities.

Within ASAŞ’s production infrastructure, large-scale profiles up to 30 meters in length can be machined on 5-axis CNC machines. Robotic welding can be performed on lines up to 120 meters in length. Critical sub-assembly groups such as floor, roof and side panels are also completed within the same production infrastructure.
