Logistech, the Mediterranean's largest logistics fair, opens on 11 September!

Logistech – Logistics, Warehousing and Technologies Fair, being organized for the third time this year by İZFAŞ, will bring together all stakeholders in the logistics sector, from logistics companies to ports, in İzmir. Logistech – Logistics, Warehousing and Technologies Fair, being organized for the third time by İZFAŞ under the auspices of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, will welcome its guests at Halls A and B of Fuar İzmir between 11-13 September 2024. Logistech, which offers participants and visitors an experience where the entire supply and demand chain of the logistics sector comes together, grew by 50% compared to last year. Last year, Logistech was visited by a total of 17,188 people: 1,172 from 34 countries worldwide, from Germany to the US, from China to Austria, and 16,016 domestic visitors from 33 provinces. USD 100 billion contribution to the country's economy While the global logistics market size is expected to reach approximately USD 18.23 trillion by 2032 in line with increasing demand driven by factors such as e-commerce that further expand the sector, Turkey's share in logistics is growing steadily. With a market size of USD 100 billion, Turkey's logistics sector ranks 11th globally with a 2.5% share of global logistics exports. The sector, which holds approximately 40% of total service exports, or USD 40 billion in exports, continues to increase its share of service exports year after year. Turkey, measured by the World Bank's logistics performance index, ranked 47th in 2018 with a score of 3.15, and has risen to 38th place in 2023 with a score of 3.4. The target is to rise to 25th place in this ranking by 2028. With the fair, it is aimed to improve the logistics performance of İzmir and the Aegean region, thereby contributing to both the country and the city's economy and exports. With its geographical location and its 8,500-year history as a port city and natural logistics hub, İzmir is intended to strengthen this position through the synergy created by the fair. The fair is expected to be visited by thousands of domestic and foreign guests. The visitor profile of the fair, which is growing in terms of participants and space compared to last year and will be held in two halls, consists of import and export companies seeking solutions for their logistics needs, all service providers in the logistics supply chain, public administrators, agents operating in international operations and those wishing to develop their Turkey operations. The fair will feature panels and events with participation from leading names in the sector, as well as an exhibition highlighting the logistics industry. On the first day of the fair, following the "Presidents Panel" with participation from heads of important chambers and associations in the sector, sessions addressing many important logistics-related issues will be organized. Throughout the fair, events will be held with a business development concept involving domestic and foreign visitors and participants.
