"New investments need to be made in 2024"
Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri Coordinator Chairman Jak Eskinazi made statements. Eskinazi said, "Industrial product exports from Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri reached USD 710 million. Our agricultural sector exports increased by 4% to USD 550 million. If our agricultural sectors maintain this momentum, exports which reached USD 7 billion 414 million with 4% growth over the last 12-month period will exceed USD 8 billion by the end of 2024. Among the 12 exporter associations under the Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri umbrella, 6 exceeded their performance targets, while 6 exporter associations fell behind last year's export figures. For Turkey to remain competitive, new investments need to be made in 2024. We expect exchange rates to continue changing in line with inflation. The current foreign exchange rate is slowing export growth. Foreign buyers expect a stable economy from Turkey."
EU exports reached USD 592 million in April 2024
Stating that EİB reached 182 different export markets in April 2024 and succeeded in increasing its exports to 86 countries and regions, Eskinazi said, "Our exports to our traditional trading partner the European Union reached USD 592 million in April 2024. Europe's share in EİB's total exports was recorded at 50%. The top five countries for our exports are: Germany with USD 124 million, the United States with USD 104 million, Italy with USD 77 million up 14%, the United Kingdom with USD 72 million up 4%, and Spain with USD 71 million in exports."
