New Flyer Industries Inc. Acquires Carlson Engineered Composites

US-based transit bus and motor vehicle manufacturer and parts distributor New Flyer Industries Inc. has acquired the assets of Carlson Engineered Composites Inc. and its US subsidiaries for USD 13 million. Carlson, which posted sales exceeding USD 38 million in 2016, supplies fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) components to original equipment manufacturers of transport vehicles and agricultural equipment. The company currently operates three production facilities totalling 21,832 m² and employs more than 300 personnel. David White, Vice President of Supply Chain Management at New Flyer Group, said: "The acquisition of Carlson will allow us to control one of the more critical products in our manufacturing supply chain. We can explore the sharing of best practices in composite parts manufacturing, optimize processes and keep pace with new technologies."
