Construction Begins on New Printing Inks Production Facility for Nantong DIC Color Co. Ltd. DIC Corporation announced that Nantong DIC Color Co. Ltd., its wholly owned subsidiary located in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, People's Republic of China, has begun construction of a new printing inks production facility in the southern area of Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA). The new facility is scheduled to begin production in 2025, following which Nantong DIC Color plans to close its existing production facility in the northern area of NETDA. Since its establishment in 2002, Nantong DIC Color has operated as one of the DIC Group's principal printing inks production centers in the PRC, manufacturing printing inks focused on offset and gravure inks at its current facility. In 2021, the company received a relocation request from Nantong City on the grounds of its proximity to the Yangtze River, in line with environmental protection efforts for the river. Following internal deliberations, the company decided to relocate to a site provided by the city in the southern area of NETDA. Construction commenced in November 2023. The design concept applied throughout DIC Nantong Color's new production facility emphasizes streamlining of production processes and auxiliary equipment. For instance, on the production floor for basic liquid inks, automation of production lines is planned alongside state-of-the-art design for raw material preparation and filling processes. Throughout the facility, the latest motors, air conditioning systems, lighting and other equipment will be used in auxiliary systems to increase energy efficiency and enhance production productivity, strengthening cost competitiveness. As a leading comprehensive printing inks manufacturer in the PRC, DIC Group is establishing a three-point production network consisting of bases in the eastern, southern and northern/northeastern regions of the country. The new production facility of Nantong DIC Color will serve as the production center for the eastern base. The facility will also serve as the main factory for the entire country for certain products.
