What Are Temperature Circulators? What Are They Used For?

Many sectors have begun seeking solutions to boost productivity and profitability due to rising costs. Temperature circulators are used in laboratories for controlled heating or cooling of samples. Liquid circulators are frequently used when working with chemicals that are flammable or explosive when exposed to open flame. They are used in a wide variety of operations including substrate melting, heating of reactants and solutions, controlled execution of chemical reactions, and cell culture incubation. They are also used for slowly and steadily heating samples or maintaining them at a predetermined temperature for a set period.

Circulators consist primarily of the following main components;

1- Cooling and/or heating unit. 2- Stainless steel tank holding the liquid and samples. 3- Pump. 4- Control panel. Circulators are fundamentally the simplest auxiliary laboratory equipment and are widely used in many laboratories. In laboratory work aimed at increasing the efficiency and quality of products and materials, circulators create significant differences compared to older test methods and have numerous integrations with external devices.

Examples of these include viscometers, Soxhlet extractors, reactors, rotary evaporators, and refractometers.

In a world where everything is becoming smart, laboratories are also becoming intelligent. The change that Industry 4.0 has brought to laboratories is not merely an automation system. Now laboratories are transforming into systems where all machines communicate with each other, cloud systems continuously process large volumes of data, and artificial intelligence is used to make decisions. There are many examples of this worldwide. Labo products are fully integrated into this process. Labo circulators are devices with precise heating and cooling capabilities. They feature a design suitable for research and development work, quality control processes, and general-purpose applications, and are controlled by a digital PID temperature control system. Various control types are used to control a system. One of these is PID controllers among continuous control methods. The purpose of the PID controller here is to prevent temperature fluctuations at a set temperature. This makes it possible to produce precise temperature solutions. The RS485 communication interface optionally offered together with Labo circulators uses the Modbus RTU protocol. With this interface, data from the device can be transferred to a computer to create various time-temperature graphs, and various scenarios can be produced based on these. Additionally, the system can operate in integration with the Lab View application. The Labo P series liquid circulators, which has one of the widest temperature ranges and best precision produced by Labo, can operate between -60˚C and +200˚C with a temperature stability of ±0.02˚C. The cooling function can be deactivated when not needed (during heating) with a button on the circulator. This extends the compressor's life and provides electricity savings.

Quality control work, research and development work, calibration work, viscosity testing, closed-loop systems, distillation systems, exothermic reaction and cooling, biological research, chemical reaction cooling, polymer work, food quality control, petroleum testing, product liquid resistance testing, product temperature resistance testing, temperature corrosion testing, crystallization work, bacteriological work, notch impact testing, pilot production systems, blood and serum dissolution baths, metallurgical analysis, and liquid circulators are required in many other fields.
