OPTITEMP TT 53: New Temperature Transmitter with NFC and Bluetooth

Krohne has launched OPTITEMP TT 53, a new universal programmable 2-wire temperature transmitter for RTD and thermocouple (TC) temperature elements. The new OPTITEMP TT 53 is designed for the chemical, oil & gas and energy industries and features HART 7 communication protocol and NAMUR NE 107 identification characteristics along with Ex approvals. Available in both compact (C) and rail-mounted (R) versions, the new transmitter can be programmed via PC or HART handheld terminal, or wirelessly through the "OPTITEMP Connect Mobile" application for iOS and Android devices.
The mobile application communicates via the transmitter's built-in NFC (Near Field Communication) feature or through the optional OPTITEMP TT-CON BT configuration kit, a compact Bluetooth modem. Using a mobile device, users can program the transmitter, configure it and monitor measurements.
All settings and configurations such as 4-20 mA output settings, output signal simulation, actual supply voltage display, operating hours indication and historical process/ambient temperature logs can be performed directly from a mobile device. Some of these can also be made available for a PCS via HART 7 data communication. The robust design of OPTITEMP TT 53 ensures reliable operation even in harsh environmental conditions: vibration resistance up to 10 g, fast response time and high accuracy (±0.08% of span; max. ±0.08K) result in very long-term stability (maximum annual deviation of ±0.02% of span). The new transmitter is also suitable for use in hazardous areas with ATEX and IECEx approvals. OPTITEMP TT 53 provides extended identification information according to NAMUR NE 107, such as device error, sensor fault notification and wiring status.
