Upcycled Food By-Products Enter Beauty

Akott Evolution S.r.l discovered a blueberry variety in Cilento, a spectacular region in Italy, which it named Star. Through biological processing techniques, it created Italine B active!

Origin: Concentrated Blueberry Skin

Sustainable Environmental Solution: Reduction of waste generated during the process because it is used as a by-product in blueberry juice production. Production: Akott developed a new extraction method for polyphenols and anthocyanins from blueberry (Vaccinium Corymbosum Misty) skins and seeds. In juice production, the cake obtained as a by-product from pressing fresh fruits is used for extraction.

Efficacy:

Protection Against Blue Light: In vitro tests conducted on human keratinocytes show reduced protein oxidation from blue light sources. In ex vivo tests on cultured tissue obtained from living organisms on the skin, differences in skin tone, oxidation and melanin formation were observed. Innovative Extraction Technology: Active molecules were extracted using PEF (Pulsed Electric Field) technology, thereby increasing efficiency by 60%. Concept: Efficacy Evaluation Mechanism: The ACTIVE, rich in Anthocyanins containing cyanidin and malvidin, blocks oxidation caused by blue light on the skin.

History

Cilento is a magnificent region on the Campania coast in southern Italy on the Tyrrhenian Sea (Italian: Costiera Cilentana). It lies between the Gulf of Salerno and the Gulf of Policastro. Where mountains meet the sea, nature encounters ancient and mystical history, beautiful vistas blend with the mixed scent of wild plants and a strip of coastline lined with fine sandy beaches bearing Blue Flag designation, cliffs carved into rocks, promontories and caves form the landscape of Cilento.

Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park

Due to its natural beauty, Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991. Added to this world heritage are the Punta Floraschi and Punta Licosa coasts, which lie between two seas and offer beautiful views.

Magna Graecia Cities in Cilento

Magna Graecia ("Great Greece"), was the name given by the Romans to the coastal regions of southern Italy. The Greeks colonized between the seventh and sixth centuries and established important colonies in Cilento: Posidonia (present-day Paestum), Elea (Velia), Pixunte and Molpa (today Palinuro) are some of these. Posidonia was renamed Paestum by the ancient Romans and is a major ancient Greek city on the Tyrrhenian Sea coast with magnificently preserved three Greek temples—the Temple of Hera, the Temple of Athena and the Temple of Poseidon—and is the archaeological park of Magna Graecia. One of the most beautiful places in the city of Poseidon's Paradise, Cilento, which has long been known for the beauty of its coastline and the clarity of its sea, is one of the most enchanting places and is described and praised in Virgil's historical poem "Aeneid". La Grotta Azzurra (Blue Grotto) can only be visited by swimming or small boats and has water the color of an enchanting blue tone.

Cilento Is Known for Mediterranean Diet

Due to its traditional gastronomy, Cilento is where the true roots of the Mediterranean diet are found. People visit this region to taste incredible dishes such as real handmade pasta (fusilli) made with tomatoes bearing Cilento DOC certification from this area.   Ferda Sıldıroğlu Business Development Manager Parkim Group
