What Is Lecat?
Lecat is a material produced by expanding special-grade clays at 1200˚C. The production of expanded lightweight clay aggregate began in Kansas City in 1917. It was first incorporated into United States standards, then into European standards.
As a lightweight building element, Lecat enables the construction of taller and more earthquake-resistant structures of the same weight. Lecat is used in buildings for thermal and sound insulation, drainage, soil pressure reduction and as a filling material.

Because Lecat granules contain large air voids, they maintain high levels of aeration and water permeability in soil. They reduce water loss through soil evaporation. They do not carry or harbor disease.
Being neutral (pH=6.5-7.5), it creates an appropriate growing environment for plants. Our company was established in 2013 to produce lightweight aggregate (Light Expanded Clay Aggregate Turkey) under the name Lecat in Turkey, as a result of long years of research.
