When design, management and production departments are located within the same factory, working areas for each department can reach critical capacity. This situation also complicates improvements to the production line, as there is insufficient space to accommodate new technologies. One of our customers in the automotive industry decided to integrate different systems for their new factory. They asked Trilogiq Türkiye to create an ergonomic production line that they could test before the factory was built. This gave them the opportunity to develop their production line while production continued in their old factories and new buildings were still in the planning stage. Our design team created an alternative line optimized for the existing production setup. Twenty workstations were produced, designed to fit with one unit at each stage of production and compatible with existing equipment systems. This reduced the number of tasks required for each function and minimized downtime in the production line. Optimizing storage space and reducing distances between production personnel had a visible impact on efficiency. Gravity-assisted storage units enabled economical use of available space and direct access when needed. This reduced the time required to complete each task. Organizing each function accelerated and improved the production process. As a result, we maintained our 12-minute production target. When we move to our new factory, we plan to set up one production line for each of two different models. Manufacturers can become more responsive to variable conditions. At the same time, by consistently improving performance and efficiency at required stages, they can provide greater flexibility to their customers. The ability to define and test improvements becomes more efficient and more cost-effective than the different systems introduced by new technology alone. Involving production personnel in the phases of such fundamental changes creates a more positive work environment, and in the long term will increase employee development and loyalty.
