With its unique patented technology, the Asconium® product range comprises organic liquid additives that deliver long-term and excellent corrosion performance in pigmented or transparent systems. While the relevant products can be used as the sole corrosion inhibitor additive in paint systems, they can also be combined with other corrosion-inhibiting pigments to enhance performance. As liquid additives, they are very easy to incorporate into paint systems, do not cause sedimentation, and do not reduce system gloss. Ascotran® Product Range to Prevent Flash Rusting

Water-based coatings are developed to comply with volatile organic compound limits and meet regulatory requirements. When water-based coatings are applied to metal, flash rusting—rapid corrosion occurring in the substrate layers of the metal—can be a concern. In response to these situations, Ascotec has developed the Ascotran® range, a complete bio-based flash rust inhibitor product group. Depending on the metal or coating structure requiring protection, the Ascotran series is effectively used in many different systems. Compared to conventional and high-nitrite alternatives, Ascotran provides flash rust prevention at lower dosages. Even under high-humidity conditions, the relevant additives perform significantly better than most competitors, even on highly challenging surfaces such as cast iron or grit-blasted steel.
