To achieve the desired quality in wet paint application, the main standards that must be met in facilities are proper filtration and clean air systems, suitable air conditioning, and appropriate lighting.
As Alfatechnic, when designing our facilities, we perform calculations regarding filter surface area and dimensions in filtration systems, flow rates and pressures of filtration fans, and selection of systems required for heating and air conditioning with meticulous attention to criteria such as the number of operators working in the facility, the type of coating material to be used, the dimensions of the material to be coated, and the climate conditions of the region where the facility will be established.
All our systems comply with environmental health regulations, occupational safety regulations and Atex directives, and are systems certified to world standards.
1.1. Alfatechnic Shipyard Type Paint Facility Projects
As Alfatechnic, we establish facilities specially designed for painting large parts such as ship blocks in shipyards. Shipyard Type Paint Facilities can be established by only a few companies worldwide. In the Alfatechnic Shipyard Type Paint Facilities we have established domestically and internationally, we use systems that are internationally recognized for filtration, air conditioning, painting equipment and automation. The air conditioning system in the facility, consisting of heating, dehumidification and humidification, is automatically controlled with sensors. Heating is provided by natural gas units and automatically activates when the facility temperature drops below the desired level. For humidity control, dehumidification is provided by silica gel rotor units operating on the adsorption principle. During the application of humidity-cured paints in the facility, humidification is performed using a pulverized water system through jet nozzles installed on the ceiling. In shipyard paint facilities, standard filtration systems cannot be used due to material dimensions. Wet paint particles and solvents sprayed onto parts with high-pressure equipment are absorbed by special filters located on the facility walls. The air absorbed by the fans on the system is passed through a special kraft filter here before being released into the atmosphere. Although the dimensions of filter units in our shipyard type paint facilities vary depending on facility dimensions, they are generally 3,000 mm × 3,000 mm. Filtration systems must be properly designed to prevent environmental harm, protect personnel health and provide maximum quality performance. Because the risk of fire and explosion in paint facilities is very high, proper ventilation and filtration are vital. We document the compliance of all equipment we use in filtration with Atex and environmental health conditions. When selecting a filtration system in our Paint Facilities, we consider the dimensions and type of material to be painted, the number of operators to work, the coating material to be used, and characteristics such as the area where the facility will be established. In Alfatechnic Paint Facilities we use vertical and diagonal filtration techniques. Depending on needs and the suitability of the area to be established, we install filter systems from walls or floors. Except for special applications, for wet paint in the facility generally; a temperature of 20-25°C is required during painting and 60-70°C during drying. In our paint facility heating systems, we use systems suitable for natural gas, electricity and LPG, LNG use while also considering operating costs in accordance with needs and conditions. Our heating systems are automatically controlled according to values entered into the control panel. In addition to drying ovens, we establish combined type facilities where both painting and oven-drying are performed in the same facility, taking into account criteria such as the type of coating material and the manufacturing speed of the material to be coated.Alfatechnic General Industrial Paint Facility Lighting Systems
The primary concern when designing lighting systems in paint facilities is that lighting fixtures must be exproof and Atex certified against possible fire and explosion risks.
