Founded in 1997, AKPA Kimya A.Ş. specializes in organic peroxides, initiators, accelerators and paint driers, conducting production operations at its 55,000 m² facility, of which 16,000 m² is enclosed. Domestic and international marketing, sales and logistics operations are managed from the company's headquarters in Istanbul. AKPA Kimya, which manufactures many different chemical substances, exports more than 75% of its products to over 65 countries. Its products are used in the composites, paints and coatings, plastics, petrochemicals and rubber industries. Automotive, marine, shipbuilding, electronics, wind energy, defence, security, civil engineering, railways, public transport, pipes, tanks and grilles—corrosion-resistant products in these sectors generally represent the application areas for AKPA Kimya products. Operating an active role in the globalizing market and continuously developing, AKPA Kimya has assembled specialists in R&D, production, quality control, quality assurance and sales-marketing to form a team dedicated to product development and technical support activities. Significant R&D investments have played an active role in AKPA Kimya's growth process. In 2018, the company allocated 4% of its turnover to R&D investments, not only meeting customer needs optimally but also undertaking custom work tailored to customer applications.
